Find the Best Skateparks in Ottawa

Skateboarding is a form of individualistic expression practiced by people of all ages and statuses, and became increasingly popular in the 1950s. There are so many benefits to skateboarding that it not only increases daily physical activity, but also confidence, coordination, sleep health, stress relief and positivity. The art of skateboarding has a place for skateboarders, regardless of socioeconomic status, race, physique, sexual orientation or gender. So skateboarding (and the use of skate parks) has always been very popular. Skateboarders may enjoy going to a local skate park with friends to try out some new moves. Here are a few skate parks in and around Ottawa that offer plenty of opportunities not only to practice your skills but also to meet new people.

Ottawa Skateparks:

1. Lansdowne Park: Princess Patricia Way, Ottawa, ON K1S 5H6
check details at https://ottawa.ca/en/lansdowne#h3-12

Located in the Glebe Community Centre of Ottawa (by TD site in Lansdowne) sits one of Ottawa's newer skate parks. The park includes a series of slopes that are very suitable for beginners, and some more difficult slopes that are more suitable for people who skateboard for a long time. And the nearby basketball court is also a good place to practice on flat ground, there is not too difficult, so it will be more suitable for beginners. Last winter, at Lansdowne Park, there was also an indoor practice area for skateboarders, greatly increasing the amount of time they could spend on their boards.

2. Charlie bowins skatepark:435 Bronson Ave, Ottawa, ON K1R 6J6

Charlie Bowens skate Park is also one of the most popular parks in Ottawa. The park is very spacious and filled with many different obstacles: quarter pipe, half pipe, bank, a mini ramp, a full ramp, gap and manual pad. The park is set to excite people of all skill levels. Here playing skateboard people are also very much, especially in the summer evening can see a lot of very good skateboard people play together. It is quite busy during 10-12:00pm and 5-7:pm during the summer.

3. Legacy skate park: Nepean, ON K2G 5K7, you can find more information at here:https://skateparktour.ca/skateparks/legacy-skatepark-nepean-on/

Legacy Skate Park is the largest and full public skate park in Ottawa and is located at Baseline Transitway station (across from Algonquin College). The unique thing about this park is that it's decorated with spray paint, so it's a great place to take pictures of skateboarding if you want to post them on various social media sites. The park was covered with graffiti except on the ground. And in June-September, this skatepark might be crowded on weekends between 3pm and 6pm. I've been here twice and I think it's a good place to practice skateboarding.

If you see these pictures and want to go skateboarding in these parks, please go for it! Go skateboarding, meet more friends, and explore your hobbies! Sometime go to those parks too, if you want to go skateboard with me, I have post my contact information, feel free to contact me: [email protected]
